Why learn about pathology

Being a Clinical Aromatherapist / Principal Tutor for 20 years now and accredited with The International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists, England. I have had to deal with tons of diseases, as clients would come in with all sorts of conditions and ailments. As a Therapist I feel it is of utmost importance to understand ‘Pathology’ (The study of diseases) and how we as practitioners can deal with certain diseases when it shows up with our clients. Whether you are a Fitness Trainer, Massage Therapist, Yoga Instructor, Pilates Instructor and more, you will still have clients with certain ailments that might be contradictory to treating them or teaching them certain postures or movements. This course will enable you to handle these situations better.

Studying Pathology will enable each trainer, teacher, and practitioner to deal with these conditions and keep your clients safety as priority. As you may know our body systems are intriguing and fascinating specially when it heals itself after an injury. In this 11 module class we will commence with the Integumentary system which is the skin and our largest organ in the body. We continue inwards to the skeletal, muscular, nervous system and so forth until the reproductive system. Under each system you will learn in detail the dis-orders and diseases that affect that system and what the causes of this might be, the symptoms and what we can do to offer assistance to bring the body back to equilibrium.

I have had the pleasure of teaching for any years now and completed the Adult Learning qualifications with City and Guilds, on how to deliver learning. I hope you find as much joy in learning pathology, as I love teaching it. I also enjoy teaching with stories of actual clients that I have seen with these conditions and use that as a case study to make your learning more interesting.
